  • What is Rope Light
LyTec® is a light source based on the technology of electroluminescence. It is a linear light source available in the form of a wire. LyTec® comes in many colors, small diameters and continuous lengths varying from inches to thousands of feet. When the appropriate electric power is applied to LyTec®, the flexible wire glows similarly to neon light. Amazingly, one thousand yards of LyTec® consumes the energy of just one ordinary light bulb!

  • What is Flat Sheet or Electro Luminescence (EL) Sheet
A very thin layer of light emitting phosphor is placed between two thin electrodes. One is opaque and the other is translucent to allow light to escape. When AC current (400 - 1600 Hz) is applied, the phosphor will then rapidly charge and discharge, resulting in the emission of light. The brightness and color of the light depends on the chemical composition and dye pigments of the phosphor. Electro Luminescence (EL) allows us to apply light to ANY flat design, be it a logo or artwork, and animate that design up to 10 colors and 10 different, pre-determined sequences. Add that to a light-weight, paper-thin, non-heat-generating medium, driven by batteries, and the applications are endless - eye-catching point-of-sale; flat, flexible light boxes; animated T-shirts and caps; retail and stage décor; gimmicky novelties and more!

  • What are LED's
Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) have been around for years in red, yellow and green. New technological advances have given us incredibly bright blue, purple, and white versions--the white and purple LEDs on our products page are state-of-the-art in brightness. The rated brightness varies by how wide the beam angle is. LEDs with a super-high brightness rating also have a very narrow beam angle. Wider-angle LEDs have a lower brightness rating, but may put out just as much light. It's important to choose the beam angle to suit your needs. LEDs can last tens of thousands of hours if used at rated current No annoying flicker like from fluorescents LEDs are impervious to heat, cold, shock and vibration No breakable glass is used, and LED lights can be waterproofed for marine use.
